Robert Burr will host the next Redland Riot Road Rallye, a mad-capped adventure for treasure. This is a free event for car enthusiasts, tropical fruit lovers, history buffs and anyone who enjoys a leisurely drive through rural South Miami-Dade County -- Miami's Bountiful Countryside.

We gather at Cauley Square at 11am; the road rallye starts at noon. Print your own free map of the route with driving directions. We'll provide each car with a set of instructions and questions to answer.

This rallye is not a race. The route is planned -- each stop is of historical interest. Instead of cryptic instructions our crew have prepared a series of questions to be answered along the way, some to be found on signs at the scheduled stops, others between them. The winners will be the ones with the most correct answers.

Rallye participants are encouraged to enjoy the stops along the way and collect some delicious goodies, including fresh produce, exotic fruits and home-made delicacies. Bring along some cash for hot sticky buns right out of the oven, delicious tropical fruit milkshakes, award-winning orchids, tropical fruit wine, fresh ripe strawberries, etc.

At 5pm, at the final stop (the Redland Hotel), we'll gather all the answers and give away prizes to those that successfully complete the rallye and answer the most questions correctly.

All participants are invited to enjoy dinner at their own expense after the rallye at the White Lion Cafe at 6pm. The address is 146 NW 7th Street in Homestead, two blocks west of Krome.

There is no need to RSVP in advance. Any car, truck, motorcycle, or street-legal vehicle can participate.

For more information, contact Robert and Robin Burr at 305-443-7973.

Redland Rioters relax at The White Lion Cafe for dinner after a day of collecting goodies.
